Dana T. Bedden
Returning to Pennsylvania after seven years is Dana Bedden, now working as a regional superintendent in Philadelphia. Bedden had served as principal of School Without Walls in Washington, D.C., and subschool principal of Mount Vernon High School in Fairfax County, Va. Earlier Bedden was athletics coordinator in the Exeter Township and York districts in Pennsylvania.

Kathryn Gruber
Kathryn Gruber takes over her second superintendency, this time with the Sullivan County Schools in Dushore, Pa. She previously was superintendent in Rochester, Pa., where she also was assistant superintendent. Gruber earlier worked as assistant high school principal in Slippery Rock, Pa.



Kathleen Clark Halligan
The Salem, Conn., schools have a new superintendent in Kathleen Halligan. She has held numerous positions in the Nutmeg State, including assistant superintendent in Groton, elementary principal in Canterbury and reading consultant in East Hampton. Halligan also is an adjunct professor of education at the University of New Haven.



Joseph J. Marinelli
The superintendent of the Wayne-Finger Lakes Board of Cooperative Educational Services, Newark, N.Y., Joseph Marinelli, has assumed the presidency of the Association of Educational Service Agencies. Marinelli also had worked as superintendent in Livonia, Mich., and associate superintendent of Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Fla.


Iris Metts
Mosaica Education Inc., a charter school management company in San Rafael, Calif., has appointed Iris Metts as its new chief education officer starting in July. Metts has more than 30 years in public education, most recently as chief executive officer for Prince George’s County, Md. Earlier she served as Delaware’s first secretary of education.


W.L. Sanders
W.L. Sanders is the new superintendent in Farmington, Mo. Sanders spent three years as superintendent in Carthage, Texas, and five years as superintendent of Troup, Texas. He worked for 13 years in the Burleson, Texas, district before a stint as principal of Copperas Cove High School.
