STATE OF THE SUPERINTENDENCY

The location of a school district shapes relationships between superintendents and their communities, according to data collected in AASA’s mid-decade nationwide survey.

Rural superintendents, who composed 56 percent of respondents, reported lower levels of public support than those leading systems in small towns, suburbs and cities.
