Top Ten Problems

When superintendents were asked to rank the leading problems they were experiencing professionally and personally, their top three responses in AASA’s mid-decade survey were, in order, lack of adequate funding, job stress and time commitment.

Looming behind the top three is an emerging dissatisfaction with the imposition of federal regulations and requirements followed by relationships with school board and staff members.

Little variation was in evidence when their responses were arrayed by district enrollment.
