LEGAL BRIEF

“You can’t teach my child critical race theory!” “You must give me, as their parent, all lesson plans before you teach them.” “You will not teach the evolution of dinosaurs. We believe in the Book of Genesis.” “You are indoctrinating my child if you read a book where one of the couples is in a same-sex relationship.”

For public school educators today, these statements are not mere fantasy or myth. They are a harsh reality that is center stage in almost every school board meeting room across the country. No schoolhouse is immune to the current challenges related to who in fact controls what is or what is not taught in our public schools.
