My View

I am the youngest of 11 children. My siblings will tell you that being the youngest of 11 caused me to get all sorts of extra attention and spoils. My siblings lie.

Having 10 older siblings, particularly six older brothers, put me in harm’s way much of the time. But my brothers also prepared me for my career more than any graduate-level educational leadership course ever could. You see, when I was a kid, my brothers used to make me climb to the top of our wild cherry tree, and then they would throw baseballs at me.

Nothing has prepared me for my career in educational leadership quite as much.
