Redefining Ready! Cohort
Where Preparation Meets Purpose: College, Career and Life Readiness
In today's rapidly changing world, the traditional markers of readiness – standardized test scores – fall short in capturing the full spectrum of our students' potential. AASA's Redefining Ready! Cohort recognizes a fundamental truth: our students deserve a balanced approach to success that honors the multiple pathways to meaningful lives. Together, we'll learn new strategies to build educational ecosystems where Career, College, and Life Readiness aren't competing priorities but complementary dimensions of holistic student development.
Learning Objectives:
- Implement Career, College, and Life Readiness metrics to drive student success
- Expand work-based learning opportunities (internships, apprenticeships, and industry partnerships)
- Increase access to college pathways, including dual credit, early college, and transfer agreements
- Strengthen executive functioning skills in students to improve time management, problem-solving, and adaptability
- Ensure students have the life skills necessary for independent living, financial management, and career navigation
- Use data to measure and communicate success across Career, College, and Life Readiness
Any district leader who is interested in furthering the Redefining Ready! initiative and mission, particularly superintendents, assistant superintendents, district office staff and principals.
2026 - 2027 Meeting Schedule
Virtual Meetings
All virtual meetings will be held from 1:00pm - 2:30pm ET on the following dates:
- September 10, 2026
- October 8, 2026
- January 14, 2027
- April 8, 2027
In-Person Meetings
November 16 - 18, 2026: Cohort Site Visit | Cajon Valley Unified School District (Calif.) | This site visit is exclusively for registered cohort members and their teams!
April 26 - 28 2027: Igniting the Future Summit 2027 | Mayfield School District (Ohio) | This summit is open to all leaders. Registered cohort participants receive one complimentary Summit registration and can add team members at a discounted rate.
