School District Champions in Digital Innovation, Technology and Industry Partnerships Gather in Texas at AASA’s Transformational Leadership Consortium Meeting

Austin, Round Rock and Pflugerville Schools to Serve as Host Districts

Alexandria, Va. – March 1, 2024 – Superintendents and other school district leaders working to scale up the areas of innovation, creativity and technology are gathering in Austin, Texas, March 3-5, as part of AASA, The School Superintendents Association’s Transformational Leadership Consortium. Austin,  Round Rock and Pflugerville Independent School Districts are serving as host districts for AASA’s spring site visit for the 2023-24 year.

“For the past decade, this leadership initiative has inspired school leaders to reimagine the future of learning with the help of cutting-edge technology.”

The three-day gathering is geared to help school district administrators as they build successful models to support engaging and effective learning experiences using transformative practices, and educational and community partnerships. Participating educators routinely serve as leading national voices for innovation in our nation’s public schools.

Schuler, executive director, AASA. “The many opportunities to meet and learn from some of the best innovators in Texas will help consortium members establish future-driven tools and techniques to better serve their students and their districts. We thank Austin, Round Rock and Pflugerville staff for hosting our spring meeting.”

Attendees will visit Dell Technologies and take a firsthand look at a state-of-the-art facility designed to showcase advancements in information technology infrastructure, software solutions and emerging technologies. Additional topics will focus on security implications of artificial intelligence and the gamification of enterprise generative AI.

“Hosting AASA’s Transformational Leadership Consortium is an honor for our district because it provides ways for school system leaders from across the country to see what we have to offer and to adopt new tools, technologies and ways of thinking,” said Hafedh Azaiez, superintendent, Round Rock ISD. “Superintendents who are focused on transformative learning can take full advantage of the many project-based learning and professional growth opportunities this consortium makes available.”

Themes throughout school visits during the meeting will include general leadership, career and technical education, culinary arts, welding, greenhouse and gardening, and health and science.
