Goldie Hawn to Address AASA's Mental Health Cohort, SEL Cohort and Learning 2025 Network

August 08, 2023

Mental health support and social and emotional learning (SEL) in public schools have a profound impact on academic, emotional and social development, creating inclusive and supportive learning environments to help all learners succeed.

We are thrilled to announce an exciting year ahead with the AASA SEL Cohort and Mental Health Cohort, offering district leaders the opportunity to connect and learn from leading experts, thought leaders and colleagues.

Both cohorts will kick off with an exclusive virtual event on August 14, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, specially crafted for cohort and AASA Learning 2025 Network participants. This event will feature Academy Award winner Goldie Hawn, renowned not only for her acting career but also for her decades-long dedication to promoting children's mental health through her program, MindUP. MindUP empowers schools, communities and families to provide children with the mental fitness needed to thrive in school and throughout their lives.

During this event, Hawn will shed light on the significance of mental health support in school systems, alongside Illinois State Superintendent Tony Sanders. Together, they will share success stories from districts across the country. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn from a panel of three school system leaders who will offer recommendations on how school districts can effectively support children in need.

This unique opportunity will equip participants with valuable insights to foster a culture of well-being and growth!
