Innovation for Transformation Consortium

Inspire, Innovate, Transform: Leading the Charge in Educational Excellence

Leaders visiting a museum and engaging with students in classrooms
The Innovation for Transformation Consortium brings together educational leaders ready to transform learning environments where every student gains real skills for real life. We unite expertise in personalized learning and education transformation to help you lead meaningful change — grounded in AASA's Public Education Promise and its five guiding principles:

  • Student-centered learning
  • Real skills for real life
  • Attract, hire, retain and reward the best staff
  • Highly engaged families, communities, and business partnerships
  • Measuring what matters

While many districts have made progress in these areas, this consortium will help you identify actionable next steps, build coalitions for implementation, and engage your community to secure buy-in. Most importantly, we'll help you stay focused on what matters most: our students.

Learning Objectives

As a participant, you'll develop capabilities critical to leading and sustaining educational innovation:

  • Transformational Leadership Practices: Lead change that drives meaningful improvements in student outcomes and district performance, anchored in AASA's five guiding principles.
  • Innovative Instructional Strategies: Explore personalized approaches to curriculum and instruction that engage students, spark creativity, and provide the diverse learning experiences students need.
  • Advancing STEM Education: Develop robust STEM programs that inspire students and prepare them for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Collaborative Leadership and Systems Thinking: Build strong teams aligned around a shared vision, leveraging partnerships with families, communities, and businesses to support student success.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation Cycles: Implement a culture of continuous improvement using the "measuring what matters" principle — data-driven strategies that enhance educational practices while keeping students at the center.
Who should participate?
District leaders ready to transform learning environments where students gain real skills for real life—particularly superintendents, assistant superintendents, and program leaders focused on personalized learning, STEM advancement, and student-centered innovation.
