Last month, both the House and Senate introduced bills to extend the Secure Rural Schools/Forest Counties program. HR 5030, sponsored by Representatives Neguse (D-CO), McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), La Malfa (R-CA) and Huffman (D-CA) was introduced in the House. Senators Crapo (R-ID), Wyden (D-OR), Risch (R-ID) and Merkley (D-OR) introduced Senate bill, S. 2581 to extend SRS for 2024, 2025 and 2026. Congress is in summer recess which is a great time to reach out to your members in their states and home districts.

Please ask your Senators and your Representative to co-sponsor and help to advance theses bills to extend Secure Rural Schools.
