Suzanne Bouffard

Managing Editor, AASA, The School Superintendents Association

Suzanne Bouffard is joining AASA as managing editor of School Administrator Magazine. She brings many years of experience in educational publications as well as a background in child development. She is passionate about making research, best practices, and expert insights accessible to practitioners, policymakers, families, and the general public.

Suzanne most recently served as Senior Vice President, Publications & Communications at Learning Forward, the professional learning association. Her responsibilities included serving as editor-in-chief of The Learning Professional magazine, editing books, writing articles and blog posts, and contributing to membership and publications strategies.

Previously, she worked as a freelance writer and editor, with articles appearing in national outlets like The New York Times and The Atlantic as well as educational publications like Educational Leadership, The Hechinger Report, and Mindshift.

After obtaining a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Duke University, she worked at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for ten years, developing intervention programs, translating researcher for practitioner audiences, and supporting educational programs like the U.S. Department of Education’s Parent Information and Resource Centers.
