Michael Hunigan is Vice President of AI at Varsity Tutors, where he leads the development and implementation of generative AI solutions that transform how educators teach, students learn, and administrators operate. His work centers on leveraging AI to reduce administrative workload, enhance instructional decision-making, and deliver personalized learning experiences at scale.

Before joining Varsity Tutors, Michael served as Vice President at Capacity, an AI-driven support automation platform that helps organizations streamline communication, reduce operational burden, and improve decision-making. These principles closely mirror the challenges facing today’s school systems. Earlier in his career at Multiply (formerly Answers), he developed educational technology solutions that expanded access to academic support for millions of students, reinforcing his belief that technology should enhance, not replace, the human element in education.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University and is passionate about creating intelligent, empathetic systems that advance learning and productivity at scale.
