Michael Garcia
Michael Garcia is K–12 Safe Schools Evangelist and National K–12 Business Development Director for HID Global and Mercury Security. A board member and advisor to the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS), ZeroNow, the National Council for School Security Directors (NCSSD), the National Council on School Facilities, and the South Texas School Board Association, he brings 25+ years of executive leadership in cyber and physical security serving K–12, Homeland Security, federal agencies, and the Department of Defense. He helped establish the FBI InfraGard program and the Center for Information Assurance and Security at UTSA and has supported hundreds of districts nationwide in implementing unified physical security, life safety, and mental health frameworks. Named one of Security Magazine’s Most Influential People in Security (2022) and recipient of Security Executive Magazine’s 2023 Security Innovator Award, Garcia also serves on the board of the Institute for Rural Mental Health Initiatives at Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
