J.R. Green
Dr. Green has over 30 years of experience in K-12 education, serving in various roles including teacher, administrator, and superintendent. For the past 12 years, he has been the superintendent of Fairfield County School District, where he has enhanced curriculum offerings, improved facilities, and achieved numerous state and national recognitions, including the 2022 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. In June 2024, he received the SCASA Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Green is passionate about inspiring young people, founding the Griffin Bow Tie Club, a mentoring program focused on leadership. He also oversaw the construction of the Fairfield Career and Technology Center, a state-of-the-art facility offering career and technical education. Dr. Green holds multiple degrees from the University of South Carolina and is actively involved in several civic and professional organizations. He lives in Columbia, S.C. with his wife and daughters, emphasizing education as the foundation of the future.
