Jennifer Reed
Jennifer Reed is an educator and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience leading strategic systems and program development to support the social, emotional, and mental health of students. As Senior Director of District Programs at JED, she drives national initiatives to build best-in-class school mental health systems in PK-12 schools.
Before joining JED, Jennifer served as the Director of Strategic Education Initiatives at the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, where she spearheaded the growth and implementation of innovative school mental health programs across K–12, higher education, health systems, and community partnerships in Texas. Previously, she led one of the nation’s largest comprehensive school mental health programs as Director of Clinical Services for the Dallas Independent School District’s Mental Health Services Department. Her leadership has consistently advanced collaboration between schools and strategic partners, improving service delivery and ensuring equitable access to high-quality mental health care for students and families.
A first-generation college graduate, Jennifer draws on her South Texas Latina roots, reflecting her commitment to hard work, dedication, and passion in every aspect of her career. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas.
