Janice Bloom

Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director, College Access: Research & Action (CARA)

Janice Bloom is the co-founder and Co-Executive Director of College Access: Research & Action (CARA). CARA is based in New York City but does work around the country to ensure that first-generation college students, low-income students, and students of color have the knowledge and support necessary to enroll in and persist through college. CARA partners with high schools, community-based organizations, and higher education institutions to transform access and success guidance from an ‘enrichment for some’ to an ‘entitlement for all’. Before founding CARA, Janice taught high school social studies and was a professor at Eugene Lang College/The New School.
