Janeen Peretin
Dr. Peretin joined the Baldwin-Whitehall School District in 2003, first serving as a high school mathematics teacher and eventually department chairperson. In 2009, she transitioned to an administrative role where she then served as an assistant principal. Later in 2014, she joined the district's leadership team.
Dr. Peretin has led nationally recognized innovations in technology, esports, and STEM. She has secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants for programs like competitive esports and the district's mobile Fabrication Lab. Her leadership also brought a district-wide 1:1 Chromebook initiative, classroom digital display boards, Google Workspace for Education, and the Canvas LMS, fundamentally enhancing Baldwin-Whitehall’s technology landscape.
A 2024 CIO of the Year “Tech Trailblazer” and Duquesne Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, she is passionate about inspiring future leaders, especially through groundbreaking initiatives like the Fly Like a Girl (FLAG) Drone Academy. She also serves as vice president of the Baldwin-Whitehall Education Foundation, which supports faculty innovation and helps students pursue their goals beyond high school.
Dr. Peretin holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Management and Leadership from Robert Morris University and has completed advanced certifications in administration and educational leadership, including a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania. She holds a master's degree from Gannon University and two bachelor's degrees from Duquesne University in mathematics and secondary education.
