Jamie Bente

Jamie Bente has dedicated his career to serving the students, families, and staff of Faribault Public Schools, ISD 656, since 2013. He has served as superintendent since July 2022, following six years as principal of Faribault High School.

Bente began his career in education as a teacher, coach, dean, and mentor before moving into school administration. As principal, he led initiatives including the implementation of a 7-Period Day, the creation of Falcons Online Academy, and the establishment of the 9th Grade Academy. He was named Southeast Minnesota Principal of the Year in recognition of his leadership. As superintendent, Bente has led efforts focused on academic achievement, equity, and access, successfully guided the renewal of a critical operating levy, and led a comprehensive district reorganization designed to strengthen support for students and staff and improve organizational efficiency.

Bente holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration, as well as principal and superintendent licenses, from Saint Mary’s University. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio.
