Gregory Hutchings, Ed.D.

Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. is Co-Director of the AASA/Howard Urban Superintendent Academy and an Assistant Professor and EdD program coordinator in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (ELPS) program at Howard University.

A former K–12 superintendent and national education leader, he brings over 25 years of experience as a teacher, principal, central office administrator, and college admissions counselor. His research focuses on the experiences of African American superintendents and their leadership in dismantling systemic inequities.

Dr. Hutchings is the founder and CEO of two national educational consulting firms: Revolutionary ED, LLC, which helps school systems advance equity-focused strategies without politicized language, and Hutchings & Associates, which provides executive coaching, strategic planning, and governance support to education leaders nationwide. He is co-author of Getting Into Good Trouble at School, a practical guide for school leaders committed to equity-centered transformation. A published author, national speaker, and life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Dr. Hutchings holds a doctorate in educational policy, planning, and leadership from the College of William & Mary school.
