WED Department Chairperson / LEA for Elementary Related Services

Beth Campanelli earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Rehabilitative Services from Assumption College and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Rhode Island. She has served the Woonsocket School Department for 26 years.

Beth spent most of her career as a speech-language pathologist in the district’s early childhood building, working with PreK through Grade 2 students. She has also provided Early Intervention services and home-based private therapy. Beth has specialized training and a strong interest in using visual supports to enhance functional communication, language development, social-pragmatic skills, and behavioral expectations across general and special education settings.

In 2018, Beth became the department chairperson for the district’s 28 speech-language pathologists and serves as the local education advocate for elementary students receiving related services through special education.

Since 2020, Beth has also led Woonsocket’s PreK–K transition initiatives, beginning with the creation of the district's summer transition supports​ team and expanding in 2022 to include leadership of the district’s First 10 Group. Her work continues to grow through Preschool Play & Learn groups, Passport to Kindergarten events, ​curriculum development, and community-school partnerships.
