Through our collective involvement in the AASA Transformational Leadership Consortium, member superintendent leadership skills have been strengthened and highly supported. As school district leaders across the nation consider the integration of technology, AASA is helping to support change, growth, and progress. The AASA Transformational Leadership Consortium will continue to guide this critical work.

What do you get out of this group?   

  • collaborating / planning / networking
  • learning from colleagues and other thought leaders
  • giving back to the profession
  • exposure to emerging theory and practice
  • AASA will develop an online platform to archive Transformational Leadership Consortium materials so that there is a clearinghouse available to members for information, research, and networking. 

What do you put into this group?  

  • time / effort / expertise
  • willingness to present at state/national conference
  • willingness to blog or write for AASA publications 

As an AASA Transformational Leadership Consortium member, you are expected to attend and possibly present at the scheduled meetings (two meetings per academic year - depending on circumstances with the pandemic, we may hold regular virtual meetings until we are able to safely convene together in the future).  

  Essential Questions for the Cohort:   

  • How do your programs prepare students to be successful in their local and/or global economy? 
  • How can technology pair with the concept of personalized learning to change teaching and learning in our schools? 
  • How can opportunities to innovate for both children and adults strengthen the local economy?  

  Focus Areas:    

  • Experience innovation in schools, technology, and industry partnerships 
  • Engage/observe best practice in digital leadership 
  • Reinforce purpose and outcomes for the Transformational Leadership Consortium 
  • Advance AASA's goal to reinforce equity for all students
