When Cory Dziowgo was 15, he took his first long road trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota with his family. That meant a five-hour ride aboard his Honda 400 from north-central Nebraska. Now, the third-year superintendent of Platte County School District 1 in Wheatland, Wyo. (and AASA member since 2020), keeps up his passion by riding to school board meetings on his Yamaha Stratoliner. Dziowgo, 44, also rides in the district’s homecoming parade, enabling students to see him in action. “It kind of humanizes the role,” he says. “It shows that it’s not all stuffy. You can have your own personality.”

His own young kids, in 1st, 2nd and 4th grades, are eager to get their turn, having watched countless family members (including Dziowgo’s father, a motorcyclist at 74). Though still early for the youngsters to ride to Sturgis, Dziowgo says he plans to eventually renew the family cycling tradition.
