Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 15, 2022 – For the eighth-straight year, the ever-popular Social Media Lounge will be among the many attractions at the 2022 National Conference on Education, hosted byAASA, The School Superintendents Association, in Nashville, Tenn., Feb. 17-19.

Attendees will enhance their communications skills to make their voices heard on important equity and inclusivity issues to enhance engagement with their communities. They will also have a first-hand look at a “telepresence robot” — Vecna’s VGo Robot provides real-time audio/video communications that enable homebound students to replicate their presence in school and the classroom.

“Year in and year out, it has been a professional honor to engage with our members—the leaders of America’s public school districts—at our annual national conference through the Social Media Lounge,” said Gayane Minasyan, AASA online technologies director. “At a time when our school districts are navigating through a COVID-19 environment, while making sure the students they’re serving are receiving a quality education, it is critical that positive stories are being told, particularly in the social media space. We are looking forward to covering the latest trends in 21st-century digital communications.”

“A strong social media presence is a must-have for forward-thinking school districts in the 24/7 communications world we live in,” said Juli Valentine, AASA digital content editor. “Superintendents and staff attending our conference will gain hands-on social media assistance, make connections and take advantage of networking opportunities with peers who are leading the way in today’s social media landscape.”

Attendees can engage with their peers online by using the hashtag #NCE2022  in their Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram posts. They are also encouraged to join AASA’s NCE Facebook Group as another means for staying connected.

To learn more about the social media activities taking place throughout the conference, access AASA’s conference website.

Regarded as the most comprehensive professional learning and networking event for school superintendents and administrators, AASA’s National Conference on Education is addressing the most critical issues affecting public education today, including leading through the COVID-19 pandemic, equity in education, social and emotional learning, personalizing education, technology and school safety.
