New Report on K-12 Schools and Medicaid
A new report from the
Georgetown University Center for Children and Families explains the hit K-12
funding would take if Medicaid resources are cut. Some of the key findings
include:
COVID-19 has caused concern over the anticipated budget cuts
to K-12 education nationwide. Cuts to Medicaid are also imminent but are
expected to be less severe than if the Republicans and the current
administration had repealed and replaced the Affordable Care Act in 2017.
State funding is at risk should Medicaid be cut as funds
will be drawn from other parts of the K-12 education budget.
