Nation's Top Superintendents Convene in Washington for AASA's State Superintendent of the Year Forum

Alexandria, Va. – Nov. 8, 2017 – As AASA, The School Superintendents Association, continues to strengthen school district administration through its programs and policies, the 2017 State Superintendents of the Year will gather in Washington, D.C., Nov. 8-10, to honor excellence in district leadership and discuss the most critical issues in public education.

The forum, which will kick off with a gala at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel, is co-sponsored by AASA, VALIC and First Student

Matthew Utterback, AASA’s 2017 National Superintendent of the Year® and superintendent of North Clackamas School District in Milwaukie, Ore., is attending along with this year’s State Superintendents of the Year. 

“We are so pleased to partner with AASA and First Student as we honor the standard of excellence regarding school district leadership,” said Robert Scheinerman, president, group retirement, VALIC. “The superintendents attending the forum are driving positive change in their school districts and communities.
