Missouri Superintendent Chris Gaines Sworn in as AASA President-Elect

Alexandria, Va. – (July 11, 2017) – Chris Gaines, superintendent of the Mehlville School District in St. Louis, Mo., was sworn in today as the 2017-18 president-elect of AASA, The School Superintendents Association.
“Through AASA, I’ve seen firsthand the amazing things school district leaders are doing in critical areas such as proficiency-based learning, personalized learning, digital learning, child nutrition and student discipline,” said Gaines. “Serving as the president-elect of this great organization will be an honor. It is my intent to engage superintendents in an authentic and meaningful way to grow AASA into an even stronger organization for our members.”
A member of AASA’s inaugural 2017 Personalized Learning Cohort and Certification program, Gaines has been a member of AASA’s governing structure since 2008 and served on the organization’s executive committee since 2014. He has also been a member of the Missouri Association of School Administrators since 2001.
