NSPRA Honors AASA with Two National Publication Honors

sa augustAASA, The School Superintendents Association, is receiving two awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s 2016 Publications and Electronic Media Contest. 

SchoolAdministrator, the association’s monthly magazine and flagship publication, earned the Award of Excellence, the top level of recognition, in the magazine category for its August 2015 issue, which carried a cover story titled “Are Sports Eclipsing Academics?” The issue included several articles about the role today of interscholastic athletics. The magazine also received the Award of Excellence in 2014 and ‘15.

AASA’s Conference Daily Online, the four-day electronic newsletter produced at the association’s 2016 national conference in Phoenix, Ariz., received the Award of Merit in the category of e-newsletter for external audience. 

This year’s NSPRA competition had 965 entries, including 581 in the publications categories. The Award of Excellence was given to 99 entries, and only one other professional association, the Texas Association of School Boards, received an Award of Excellence in the magazine category.

Notably, AASA submitted only two entries in NSPRA’s 2016 competition, and both were deemed award-worthy.

All Award of Excellence winners will be on display at NSPRA’s national seminar, July 17-20, in Chicago.
