Los Angeles — Feb. 12, 2019 — Hundreds of school superintendents—America’s foremost thought leaders in public education—will have ample opportunities to learn the latest social media trends and winning strategies at the fifth annual Social Media Lounge in Los Angeles, Calif., Feb. 14-16, during the 2019 National Conference on Education, hosted by AASA, The School Superintendents Association.

Attendees can see successful models and best practices already being used in school districts, gain hands-on social media assistance, make new connections and take advantage of photo and video opportunities.

"We look forward to celebrating five years of the Social Media Lounge in Los Angeles with the superintendents who have been at the forefront of embracing social media over the years," said Gayane Minasyan, AASA online technologies director. "The Social Media Lounge continues to be a space where education leaders will hear about the latest digital engagement trends for 2019 and how to build creative and effective communication strategies for their districts. I would like to thank Aramark, the Social Media Lounge sponsor, for its continued support, enthusiasm, dedication and passion that makes the lounge such a success."

"In today's communications landscape, social media is not just for millennials—it's a strategy that every school leader must understand and implement effectively," said Deanna Atkins, AASA digital content manager. "We are very pleased that an increasing number of AASA members are utilizing social media in their daily conversations with colleagues and their staff, faculty, students, parents and respective community members."

Superintendents who are social media novices, experts or somewhere in between are all encouraged to stop by our Social Media Lounge during the National Conference on Education. Attendees can also engage with their peers online by using the hashtag #NCE19 in their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram posts.
