Los Angeles – Feb. 11, 2019 – Superintendents and other school district administrators, journalists and communications officers can follow activities at AASA’s 2019 National Conference on Education, Feb. 14-16, in Los Angeles, Calif., through Conference Daily Online.

The award-winning e-publication will include coverage of key speakers, topical sessions, award winners and AASA governance activities, plus photos and short videos from each day of the conference. The online site also will include daily blog postings by four AASA members, a continuous Twitter feed (#NCE19) and Facebook page updates.

Conference Daily Online will ensure school system leaders and advocates of public education nationwide have access to the rich content generated at our annual event,” said Jay P. Goldman, editor-in-chief. “Our online platform serves as a gathering place not only for our members attending the conference, but those who are unable to be there. Given the critical impact they have on the lives of the 50 million students learning and growing in our public schools, it is necessary that the information shared at the National Conference on Education is available to the leadership of our public schools.”

The site will be updated each evening, Feb. 13 to 16, with program schedule changes posted as they arise. A pre-conference issue with preview stories about various facets of the Los Angeles conference can be accessed now at Conference Daily Online.

During the first General Session (Thursday, Feb. 14), the 2019 National Superintendent of the Year® will be announced. Watch the video featuring the four National Superintendent of the Year finalists.

AASA, founded in 1865, is the premier organization for our nation’s superintendents serving thousands of education leaders throughout the United States. The National Conference on Education annually convenes hundreds of school system leaders from diverse communities across the country to discuss topics such as curriculum and instruction, digitizing education, leadership for equity, personalizing education, principal supervisor initiatives and superintendent/school board relationships.

The conference is also serving as a platform to highlight AASA’s Leaders Matter campaign, an initiative to showcase school districts where the exemplary leadership of the superintendent has resulted in meaningful outcomes for schools and students.
