Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 13, 2018 – Superintendents and other school district administrators, journalists and communications officers can follow activities at AASA’s 2018 National Conference on Education, Feb. 15-17, in Nashville, Tenn., through Conference Daily Online.

The award-winning publication features a new layout and will include coverage of key speakers, topical sessions, award winners and AASA governance activities, plus photos and short videos from each day of the conference. The online site also will include daily blog postings by four AASA members, a continuous Twitter feed (#NCE18) and Facebook page updates.

“We are very pleased that hundreds of superintendents and other advocates of public education will be joining us in Nashville for our national conference, but we know that many school system leaders will not be able to attend. We publish Conference Daily Online to ensure the leadership of our nation’s school districts is aware of the relevant information and insights generated at our annual event,” said Jay P. Goldman, editor-in-chief. “We look forward to sharing our news because we know that there is no better time than now to speak out about the value public education has in communities throughout the United States and the critical roles superintendents play when it comes to providing positive pathways for the more than 50 million students attending our public schools.”

The daily e-newsletter containing wall-to-wall coverage of news and photo highlights will be sent from Nashville to all AASA members on four consecutive mornings beginning February 15.
During the first General Session (Thursday, Feb. 15), the 2018 National Superintendent of the Year® will be announced. (Watch the video of the January 11 press briefing featuring the four finalists.)
AASA, founded in 1865, is the premier organization for our nation’s superintendents serving thousands of education leaders throughout the United States. The National Conference on Education will convene hundreds of school system leaders from diverse communities across the country to discuss topics such as curriculum and instruction; digitizing education; leadership for equity; personalizing education; principal supervisor initiatives; and superintendent/school board relationships.

The conference is also serving as a platform to highlight AASA’s I Love Public Education campaign, a yearlong initiative designed to highlight why public schools are essential to developing the future generations who will maintain our country’s status as a world leader.
