Emergency Communications App Allows School Staff and Parents To Report Emergencies

Alexandria, Va. – Oct. 19, 2016 – Recognizing the increased threats and safety needs facing public schools, AASA, The School Superintendents Association and CrisisGo, Inc. have teamed up to offer all AASA members an easy-to-use, mobile emergency communications technology application that can make schools safer. School districts can now offer employees, teachers and parents the CrisisGo mobile app with a Panic Button feature and emergency notification activated for free for a three-year period.

With the CrisisGo mobile communications app on their smartphones, teachers and school staff will be able to use a panic button feature to report incidents immediately to school administration and safety personnel. This feature, combined with CrisisGo notification capabilities, will offer powerful, real-time communications to keep school communities informed during an emergency, when every second counts.
“An educator’s worst nightmare is an act of violence in his or her school district," said Daniel A. Domenech, AASA executive director. “Recognizing the increased threats facing our schools, AASA is pleased introduce CrisisGo, Inc. as our latest School Solutions partner.”

“The CrisisGo Emergency Management Platform offers school districts a mobile technology that simplifies emergency planning and enhances communications during live crisis events,” said Bill Reynolds, CrisisGo co-founder. “The free panic button and emergency notification features, now available to all AASA members, are just two key elements of the CrisisGo platform to help schools and other organizations prepare for and effectively manage crisis situations.”

CrisisGo will offer implementation services to participating school districts to get schools up and running with the emergency communications app. School districts can learn more about the AASA/CrisisGo partnership on the AASA School Solutions website. After a district signs up for the program at http://www.crisisgo.com/aasaoffer, CrisisGo will set up individual district and school accounts and provide training resources with information for districts to give to staff and parents about how to download and login to the CrisisGo app.
