STEM Leadership with
JASON Learning Consortium

AASA/Howard University Urban Superintendents Academy

Superintendents Academy

With JASON Learning, an award-winning leader in STEM education, we have launched a nationwide partnership to enhance teaching and learning excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This new partnership, which benefits a diverse range of students, uses the latest technology to bring experts from around the world to our classrooms.

The Urban Academy offers prospective and in-service superintendents a revolutionary new approach to ensuring success in urban settings. The program will offer professional development, clinical field experiences, and a range of resources to prepare educators for success in the urban and increasingly diverse suburban school district. Starting with a conference in August, members of the Academy will convene one weekend a month and will connect online.
This dynamic nine-month blended program—delivered online and in-person— is designed to equip a cadre of school leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead a large urban school district. Within the context of the urban district, graduates of this program will be able to learn how to engage the community and lead courageous conversations about equity within the organization and with outside constituents.

AASA Digital

AASA National Superintendent
Certification Program

Superintendents Personalized Learning Cohort

The AASA Digital Consortium was created to support school district leadership in the areas of innovation, creativity and technology. The group uses their collective experiences, with this unique leadership opportunity through AASA, to strengthen the impact of the digital-age technologies in their respective school districts.

The National Superintendents Certification Program offers a robust experience that focuses on sharpening the skills that successful superintendents acknowledge are needed to thrive on the job. Three cohorts meet in person four times for 18 months, including at the AASA National Conference on Education.

Personalized Learning is on everyone's mind as an educational model that puts students’ needs and learning at the forefront of education. These gatherings are designed to allow you to discover, plan for and share how personalized learning will have a positive impact in your district, and what you can do to facilitate that change.

 Labor Management Collaboration
Redefining Ready! Cohort
AASA Leader Academy

Since 2011, 7 national organizations (AASA, AFT, CCSSO, CGCS, FMCS, NEA, NSBA) along with the U.S. Department of Education have been working together to support labor-management collaboration in states and school districts throughout the country to advance student learning. Based on the belief that supporting good governance of public education in our nation’s school districts is a mutual responsibility, these organizations have jointly planned several conferences, and collaborated on creation of a document titled “On the Same Page.” In addition, the organizations signed on to a co-created shared vision for transforming the teaching profession.

Redefining Ready! is a national campaign launched by AASA, The School Superintendents Association, to introduce new research-based metrics to more appropriately assess that students are college ready, career ready and life ready. Learn more about the new college and career readiness indicators and join our national campaign to help school districts and systems across the nation Redefine Ready!

The AASA Leader Academy is a 10-month program specifically designed to help school leaders raise their personal leadership capacity; accelerate the growth of healthy culture within their organization; and create an apprenticeship culture to sustain these transformations for the long-term.
