AASA’s Conference Newsletter Receives National Honor

Alexandria, Va. – June 18, 2015 – AASA’s Conference Daily Online received the top honor in its category at the 35th annual EXCEL Awards, which honor the best in association publishing nationwide.

Association Media & Publishing announced that AASA’s four-day e-newsletter, produced at the 2015 national conference in San Diego, Calif., received the silver medal in the online conference publication category. Conference Daily Online shared the silver with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. No gold medal was awarded.

Gayane Minasyan and Jay P. Goldman served as co-editors of the conference publication, which included daily news stories about conference proceedings, audio and video clips, a conference blog involving four AASA members, a Twitter feed and a photo gallery.

The EXCEL Awards Gala was held June 15 in conjunction with the AM&P conference in Washington, D.C.

With 850 entries submitted this year, the 215 winners, representing a wide array of nonprofit organizations and associations, were chosen for their exemplary work in editorial, design, advertising and marketing, online publishing, mobile applications, digital editions, and electronic newsletter categories.

Award-winning entries will be featured in the July/August issue of Association Media & Publishing’s Signature magazine.
