Alexandria, Va. – Feb. 23, 2015 – AASA, The School Superintendents Association, will kick off its 150th Anniversary celebration Feb. 26-28, 2015, at the organization’s National Conference on Education, in San Diego, Calif. Reporters, communications officers and education stakeholders can follow conference activities through AASA’s Conference Daily Online.

“Our primary audience consists of the key decision makers in our school districts from coast to coast,” said Jay Goldman, co-editor, Conference Daily Online. “Given the wealth of information that will be shared at our annual National Conference on Education, we needed to provide a platform for conference attendees as well as those unable to join us in order for this information to be shared widely.”

“Providing live coverage of our conference through Conference Daily Online allows us to share coverage of key speakers, award winners, governance activities, superintendents’ blogs, as well as photo and video galleries,” said Gayane Minasyan, co-editor of the digital edition of Conference Daily Online. “By leveraging information and communication technologies, we can provide this great benefit to all AASA members.”

The award-winning, online site will allow AASA members to share their experiences through a conference blog and Twitter feed (#NCE15).

During the first General Session (Thursday, Feb. 26), AASA’s 2015 National Superintendent of the Year will be announced. (VIDEO: View the four finalists.) For the first time, superintendents will be recognized for completing the prestigious National Superintendent Certification program.

The nearly 200 sessions at the conference will focus on the following themes: Common Core, Superintendent/School Board Relationships, Governance and District Management, Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Digitizing Education and Healthy School Environments.
