 People Hagerman

Thomas E. Hagerman
After leading several other school districts over the previous 10 years, Thomas Hagerman has assumed the superintendency in Scarsdale, N.Y. He earlier was in the top post at Winnetka, Ill., River Forest, Ill., and the Riverdale School District in Portland, Ore. Prior, Hagerman spent six years as a middle school principal in Beaverton, Ore. He began his education career as a middle and high school teacher in Portland, Ore. A member of AASA since 2004, Hagerman holds an Ed.D. from the University of Oregon.

 People McCann

Nathan T. McCann
Nathan McCann has taken over the superintendency in Ridgefield, Wash., after spending four years as superintendent of the Altar Valley School District in Tucson, Ariz. He previously worked for the Flowing Wells Unified School District in Tucson, Ariz., as a high school and middle school assistant principal and director of athletics. McCann began his high school teaching career in 1999. A member of AASA for four years, he holds an Ed.D. in educational leadership from the University of Arizona.

 People Parady

Lisa Skiles Parady
The new executive director of the Alaska Council of School Administrators is a six-year member of AASA, Lisa Parady. She previously spent six years as assistant superintendent with the North Slope Borough School District in Barrow, Alaska. Prior, Parady worked in Wyoming state government, filling positions such as chief of staff for the department of education, director of the department of workforce services and senior policy analyst for the governor’s office. Parady holds an Ed.D. and a J.D. from the University of Wyoming.

 People: Peterson

David Peterson
Longtime Washington state educator David Peterson has taken over leadership of the Nampa, Idaho, school district. He spent seven years as superintendent in the North Mason School District in Belfair, Wash., and six years as assistant superintendent in Oak Harbor, Wash. Prior, Peterson held a variety of educational administration positions with school districts in western Washington, including high school principal, director of alternative programs and director of curriculum. A member of AASA for 18 years, Peterson began his education career teaching in Olympia, Wash., in 1979.

People SimerothW. Jason Simeroth
After six years as superintendent in Durant, Okla., Jason Simeroth has accepted the top spot in the 8,100-student Yukon, Okla., school district. He previously worked in Putnam City Schools in Oklahoma City, Okla., serving five years as the executive director of curriculum and instruction and one year as a middle school assistant principal. Prior, Simeroth was a history teacher and secondary curriculum coordinator in Mustang, Okla. A member of AASA since 2009, he holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy from the University of Oklahoma.
People WilliamsEric Williams
Loudoun County, Va., Public Schools has welcomed Eric Williams as its new superintendent. Williams formerly was superintendent in the 12,500-student York County, Va., schools for three years. He worked earlier with Collier County Public Schools in Naples, Fla., as an assistant superintendent and high school principal and assistant principal. Williams also was a social studies teacher and building administrator in Massachusetts. A member of AASA for six years, Williams holds an Ed.D. in administration, training and policy studies from Boston University.
