Michael W. Daniels
After a year as acting superintendent, Michael Daniels has been named superintendent of the Canon-McMillan School District in Canonsburg, Pa. During his 16 years in the district, he also served as assistant to the superintendent, school psychologist and director of special education. Prior to his time at Canon-McMillan, Daniels worked as a school psychologist in the neighboring Peters Township School District and coordinated special education services in Washington, Pa. He has been a member of AASA since 2011.


Richard Lahn
The Alexandria, Minn., School District has a new superintendent in Richard Lahn, who served as superintendent in the 3,500-student Princeton, Minn., district since 2009. He also was principal of Princeton Middle School. Lahn began his administrative career as dean of students and assistant principal at Sartell Middle School in Sartell, Minn., in 1997. He worked for nearly a decade as a middle school social studies teacher and a track and football coach. Lahn has been a member of AASA since 2009.


David Patrick O’Rourke
After a year as assistant superintendent for management services, David O’Rourke has moved into the superintendency of the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES in Angola, N.Y. Immediately prior, O’Rourke served four years as superintendent of Silver Creek, N.Y., Central Schools. Earlier central-office posts in the district were interim business official and director of instruction and technology. O’Rourke started as an English teacher. An AASA member since 2008, he earned his Ph.D. in comparative education and social foundations of education from the University of Buffalo, State University of New York.


Judith J. Paolucci
The Leicester, Mass., Public Schools has a new superintendent in Judith Paolucci. She joins the 1,800-student district from her position as superintendent in Yarmouth, Maine, which she has held since 2009. Paolucci’s earlier posts include six years as assistant superintendent in Narragansett, R.I., and executive director at the Rhode Island Teaching and Learning Center. She also worked as an engineer for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. Paolucci received her Ph.D. in education from University of Rhode Island. She joined AASA in 2012.


Bhavna Sharma-Lewis
Riverside, Ill., Public School District 96 has a new superintendent in Bhavna Sharma-Lewis. This is her second superintendency. She led the one-school Harrison School District 36 in nearby Wonder Lake, Ill., since 2010. Previously, Sharma-Lewis held administrative and teaching positions across the state, including assistant superintendent in Addison. She earned her doctorate in curriculum design and policy studies from University of Illinois. Sharma-Lewis has been an AASA member since 2009.


Paul A. Turnbull
After serving four years as superintendent of the 1,050-student Santa Ynez Valley, Calif., Union High School District, Paul Turnbull will move to Hawaii’s Mid-Pacific Institute, a K-12 college-preparatory school, as president in July. Since 2001, he filled sundry administrative posts in the Santa Barbara, Calif., district, serving as principal of a junior high school and assistant superintendent of secondary education. At the start of his career, he worked in British Columbia, Canada, as a high school athletic director and teacher. A member of AASA since 2008, Turnbull received his doctorate from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
