Sidelight

Todd Lettow

Todd Lettow isn’t one to toot his own horn much, but that doesn’t mean the superintendent of the Hampton-Dumont School District in north-central Iowa since 2007 doesn’t still enjoy playing his trumpet. He discovered the instrument in 5th grade and later spent years as a middle school band director. These days, his performances are limited to three or four church functions a year, usually with his son and daughter, who play in the high school band. Lettow, an AASA member since 2002, spent two years recently as board president of the Iowa High School Music Association.
