As a way to help school system leaders navigate the effects of the public health crisis, Kristi Wilson, AASA president and superintendent of Arizona’s Buckeye Elementary School District, is leading a new series of webinars, focusing on the priority areas outlined in the Reopening Guidelines created by the AASA COVID-19 Recovery Task Force. AASA Leader to Leader will be comprised of monthly, one-hour Zoom sessions from November through June aimed at addressing the particular needs of leaders like you. The series will provide opportunities for AASA members and staff to share ideas and helpful strategies on behalf of the students and communities they serve during these very challenging times.

AASA Leader To Leader: Promoting Equity and Inclusion
It is essential but insufficient to insist that all students are included in opportunities for learning. We must ensure all students have access and opportunities for learning at high levels if we are to make up for learning loss caused by the pandemic and help our students get back on track for success. We are learning from the racial unrest in our country that equitable practices must be explicit and clearly articulated so that all children have hope for their futures. Join educational thought leaders as they explore with audience  members how they champion learning for Latino and African-American youth, with intentionality, using purpose-driven strategies, in their districts.  Moderator Dr. Kristi Wilson, president of AASA, will share her strategies in her district in suburban Phoenix, Ariz.
