AASA Social and Emotional Learning Cohort

The
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Cohort is a groundbreaking initiative
designed to meet the needs of the “total child”. The SEL Cohort will
involve a minimum of 30 districts from across the country. Beginning this
spring, the cohort will gather twice a year and develop case studies, action
plans, resources and other publications that will be shared with AASA members
and other administrators.
Three
outstanding superintendents will serve as SEL chairs. They are:
 |
 |
 |
Traci Davis, Washoe County
School District, Reno, Nev. |
Michael
Rice, Kalamazoo Public Schools, Kalamazoo, Mich. |
Janet Robinson, Stratford
Public Schools, Stratford, Conn. |
If
you’ve never participated in one of AASA’s leadership programs, below is what
one member said about being a part of our Digital Consortium:
“It means the world to be in the presence of so many risk takers who are
leaders in the field of innovation as it relates to technology. To
be among the company of the best and brightest is truly a blessing.” – Marlon Styles,
superintendent, Middletown City School District, Middletown, Ohio

We’re
looking for like-minded leaders who are innovators and risk takers in the field
of SEL. No one can argue this is one of the most critical issues in public
education. If you think you can make a positive contribution to this new
cohort, please apply today. For questions, please contact Mort Sherman,
AASA associate executive director, Leadership Network at 703.875.0726 or msherman@aasa.org.
