State of the Superintendency

The superintendency is growing younger, according to a 2022 AASA study.

More than 42 percent of superintendents in 2022 were 50 or younger compared to 36 percent a decade earlier. Between 2012 and 2022, the percentage of superintendents 60 and older dropped from 19 percent to 10 percent.
