Alexandria, Va. – Oct. 13, 2017 – Today, U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) and Jessica Rosenworcel, commissioner to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), visited ConVal Regional High School in Peterborough, N.H.

Serving 750 students from nine neighboring towns, ConVal Regional High School recognizes the need for a steady pace of innovation in its pursuit of learning for all. Central to the innovation and opportunities afforded to ConVal students is connectivity to high speed broadband, which the school and district affords with its E-Rate discount. E-Rate is a Universal Service Fund program administered by the FCC and helps schools and libraries access affordable high-speed connectivity.

“The future belongs to the connected—access to modern communications is necessary to have a fair shot at 21st century success,” said Rosenworcel. “Thanks to Superintendent Saunders as well as the staff and students at ConVal Regional for their warm welcome and for giving us a firsthand demonstration of the power of broadband in education today. Thanks also goes to Senator Hassan for her leadership on these important issues for New Hampshire and the rest of the country.”
