Alexandria, Va. – Oct. 2, 2017 – AASA, The School Superintendents Association, launched www.aasa.org/equity.aspx, a new feature on its website, providing a compilation of resources to address equity for school system leaders to help them and the students they serve.

“More than half of our students are economically deprived. It is critically important that education thought leaders represent and speak for the vast number of children in America who should be receiving the educational services that they are entitled to,” said Daniel A. Domenech, executive director, AASA. “AASA created this portion of our website to provide resources to address an issue that is undoubtedly the greatest threat to public education today: equity. To say we’re providing all of our kids with the same services is not the solution.”

AASA’s equity section includes publicationstoolkitswebinars and reports. There is also a multimedia library comprised of videos, radio segments and blogs. The landing page contains AASA’s bylaws, beliefs and position statements related to equity and the organization’s 2017 legislative agenda.
