Alexandria, Va. – Sept. 27, 2017 – AASA, The School Superintendents Association, in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Education and the West Virginia Association of School Administrators, is pleased to announce the formation of the West Virginia New and Aspiring Leadership Academy.

The academy is designed for both new superintendents (1 to 5 years’ experience), as well as district office staff who may aspire to become superintendents.

“The superintendent’s office serves as the catalyst behind the success of any school district and impacts how well students are positioned for success beyond high school,” said Steven Paine, West Virginia State Superintendent of Schools. “We are thrilled to partner with AASA and the WVASA to provide a year-long, comprehensive and research-based professional development opportunity for West Virginia educators.”
