AASA Supports the Digital Learning Equity Act of 2015

Alexandria, Va. – Sept. 22, 2015 – Daniel A. Domenech, executive director of AASA, The School Superintendents Association, issued the following statement today commending U.S. policymakers in response to the introduction of the Digital Learning Equity Act of 2015.   

“AASA is pleased to support the Digital Learning Equity Act of 2015, an important piece of legislation that will help narrow the equity and learning gaps that exist between students who have access to the Internet at home and those who do not.  

“AASA worked hard to support the effort to modernize the E-Rate program to ensure our nation’s schools and the students they serve have access to broadband in schools and libraries. As educators increasingly assign Internet-related homework, it is important that we support efforts to ensure all students have equal opportunity to complete their homework at home.
