Governing Board Revises Stance on Gun Limits, Receives Look at New Logo

Members of the AASA Governing Board revised the association’s position paper on school safety and adopted federal legislative priorities for 2013.
The nation’s divided views on addressing gun control in America were on full display at the AASA Governing Board meeting Wednesday.

 

While largely endorsing the association’s position paper on school safety, developed in the days following the school shooting tragedy in Newtown, Conn., the governing body opted to remove two clauses at the heart of the nationwide debate over how to limit the use of weapons to curtail mass shootings.
