Alexandria, Va. – (July 14, 2021) – Paul Imhoff, superintendent of Upper Arlington Schools in Upper Arlington, Ohio, was sworn in today as the 2021-22 president of AASA, The School Superintendents Association.

AASA is the premier organization for the nation’s superintendents, serving thousands of education leaders throughout the U.S. An AASA member since 2007, Imhoff was elected to the organization’s Executive Committee in 2017 after serving for five years on its Governing Board. Imhoff has led Upper Arlington Schools since 2013. He previously served as superintendent in Mariemont City Schools in Mariemont, Ohio, for six years.

“Throughout my tenure as president, I will be focusing on the work of achievement and equity in our nation’s public schools,” said Imhoff. “AASA has been a leader in this space, and I will seek to partner with leaders from across the nation to amplify this work and extend our efforts. The pandemic has taught us many things, and we must use this opportunity to lead meaningful change focused on each individual child in our care.”

Imhoff’s post-secondary education includes three academic degrees: Ed.D., Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, 2018; M.S., University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio, 1995; and B.S., Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, 1990.

“The new reality that is being forced upon us is providing an opportunity to help us break away from the traditional models to organize our schools. We must take bold steps to redesign teaching and learning and I couldn’t be more pleased that Superintendent Imhoff will be helping to lead this effort,” said Daniel A. Domenech, executive director, AASA. “Paul is a longstanding member of the AASA family. I look forward to working side-by-side with him as we serve the children of this country.”

Shari L. Camhi, superintendent of the Baldwin Union Free School District in Baldwin, N.Y., was also sworn in today as AASA president-elect. The installation ceremony was held in conjunction with AASA’s Legislative Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C.
