Three Veteran School Leaders Cited for Distinguished Service

AASA honored three exceptional educational leaders, including the immediate past president of the association, with the Distinguished Service Award at a ceremony on Saturday morning during the 3rd General Session of AASA’s 2013 National Conference on Education in Los Angeles, Calif.

The 2013 honorees are:

  • Herbert Berg, a superintendent of schools for 35 years, serving in six districts in Washington, Virginia and South Carolina.
  • Patricia E. Neudecker, superintendent of the Oconomowoc Area School District in Oconomowoc, Wis., and immediate past president of AASA.
  • Paul Shaw, a superintendent for 26 years in South Carolina and Georgia.
