After three decades in K-12 education, most recently as superintendent of the Franklin County schools in Frankfort, Ky., Harrie Lynne Buecker is the new liaison for district and school partnerships at the University of Louisville, where she also serves as director of educator development and clinical practice. Buecker earlier was assistant superintendent of instructional support services in Oldham County, Ky., for eight years and held various other administrative posts after starting as a math teacher. An AASA member since 2007, she earned a Ph.D. at University of Louisville.

Warren Drake has been named a network leader at the Louisiana Department of Education. A member of AASA since 2007, Drake spent the last decade as superintendent of the 5,300-student Zachary, La., Community Schools, the first independent school district in the state in more than 80 years. He previously spent 10 years as principal and assistant principal in two high schools in Baton Rouge, La., after starting in administration as assistant principal of Zachary High School in 1991.

Returning to New Jersey, Leonard Fitts has begun a two-year appointment as interim superintendent in Berlin Township Public Schools in West Berlin, N.J. Fitts worked since 2009 as an adviser at the Penn Children’s Center at University of Pennsylvania. He earlier filled interim superintendencies in Glassboro, Camden and Willingboro, all in the Garden State. During a 40-year career in school districts, he worked as a school psychologist, principal and county superintendent. An AASA member since 2007, Fitts earned a doctorate from University of Pennsylvania in educational psychology.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has appointed Alan Ingram as deputy education commissioner. He comes to the position after four years as superintendent of the 25,000-student Springfield, Mass., district. Earlier, he worked in the Oklahoma City, Okla., district as chief accountability officer, executive director of federal programs and acting director of Title I. A member of AASA since 2012, Ingram earned his Ed.D. from University of Oklahoma. Before entering a career in public education, he served for two decades in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a chief master sergeant in 1996.

After seven years as superintendent of the Rowland Unified School District in Rowland Heights, Calif., Maria Ott has joined the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education as an executive in residence. Ott earlier spent five years as senior deputy superintendent in the Los Angeles, Calif., Unified Schools, where she also was a teacher and principal. Previously, Ott was superintendent of the Little Lake City Schools in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. An 11-year AASA member, she received her doctorate from University of Southern California.

Lora Wolff, a member of AASA since 2000, has joined Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill., as assistant professor of educational leadership. She taught as an adjunct instructor at the university for 11 years. Wolff served since 2009 as superintendent of the Keokuk, Iowa, Community Schools. Prior to assuming the top berth, Wolff held various roles in Keokuk, including a year as interim superintendent. She also was assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction and director of technology. Wolff earned her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from University of Iowa.
