Washoe County’s Morrison Named National Superintendent of the Year

Three of the four finalists for 2012 National Superintendent of the Year have current connections to the Mid-Atlantic region, but it was the fourth finalist who had spent most of his career in the same region until moving to Nevada who captured the national title.

At the 1st General session of the AASA National Conference on Education Thursday afternoon, Heath Morrison, superintendent of the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nev., was named the 25th recipient of the prestigious honor.

Morrison spent all but the past three years working as a teacher and administrator in Maryland and Virginia.
