2009 AASA National Superintendent of the Year
Beverly L. Hall, Superintendent of the Atlanta Public Schools in Atlanta, Ga., was the 2009 National Superintendent of the Year. Dr. Hall has served Atlanta for the past 10 years, one of only two urban superintendents who have been in place that long.

  • 2009 AASA Superintendent of the Year Scholarship Award Winner - Alison Facey of the St. Andrew High School for Girls in Jamaica received the 2009 Superintendent of the Year Scholarship Award. The $10,000 college scholarship was presented in the name of Beverly Hall, the 2009 National Superintendent of the Year and superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools, who graduated from the school before emigrating with her family to New York City. Facey is attending the University of the West Indies in fall 2009. The award is sponsored by AASA, ARAMARK Education and ING.
